Tyser Tower Expansion and Renovation

The renovation and expansion of the University of Maryland's Tyser Tower began early in the spring of 2008. The project included adding 66,000 square feet to the existing 33,000 square foot tower.

The new Tyser Tower, which was completed ahead of schedule and ready for the 2009 Maryland Terps football season, features 64 new luxury suites, a full service kitchen, television and radio booths, a new press box and lounge area, a large retail store, a new scoreboard, and additional seating for spectators. VarcoMac installed new fire alarm, security, tele/data, audio/visual, and broadcast systems, as well as new 13.8 kV switchgear and an underground duct bank that leads to a new broadcast pedestal for media equipment connections.
